When you arrive at Sanctuary, the first thing you’ll feel drawn to do  is gaze up at the jagged Camelback Mountain, with its red rock “humps” and the “Praying Monk” rock that protrudes off to one side. Then, slip into your swimsuit and head for the spacious hot tub, next to the infinity pool, near the spa, so that the jets can dissolve any muscle tension while you once again gaze at the awe-inspiring mountain.

Claim a spot in the spacious eucalyptus steam and let the heat seep into your bones, and jumpstart a recovery from jet lag, before experiencing the divine Wild Lime Blossom Massage, a 90-minute massage starting with the head, scalp, neck and shoulders, then moving down into a relaxing full-body massage. Or try cupping, or reflexology.

Treatment rooms feature two gorgeous stone wall panels inspired by the Praying Monk on Camelback Mountain, and a quiet that is meditative. The 24 beautiful spa casitas are spacious, comfortable, and close to everything, including the buzzy Jade Bar, with fireplace and mountain views, and the divinely transportive Elements restaurant, which is low-key and romantic, with an organic farm-to-table menu that incorporates innovative twists on Asian classics and sustainable seafood. Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort is just that: a true sanctuary.
