Wisconsin Dells is known around these parts as the Waterpark Capital of the World, overflowing with attractions like waterslides, lazy rivers and wave pools. That said, Sundara Inn & Spa, tucked away in a 26-acre pine forest, provides a water-based option for those seeking relaxation over adrenaline. Sundara’s interpretation of the area’s water culture features hydrotherapy rituals, infinity pools and restorative treatments designed for rejuvenation and renewal.
Named after the Sanskrit word for "beautiful," the adults-only resort was one of the first destination spas built in the Midwest and remains among the region's premier wellness retreats. Water serves as the centerpiece of nearly every experience at Sundara. The soothing sound of water can be heard everywhere, from the landscaped entry fountains to the tranquil pool decks.
Sundara has three pools, and a boatload of water-based spa treatments. A signature experience is the Purifying Bath Ritual, a five-step self-guided hydrotherapy journey designed to awaken the senses and promote circulation. The ritual begins with a rainfall shower and gentle body exfoliation, followed by a soothing body mist and time in the aromatic steam room. Guests then cool down beneath another refreshing rainfall shower before sinking into a warm essential oil-infused pool. The experience concludes with an invigorating plunge into a cool pool before relaxing in a peaceful lounge that overlooks the forest.
One signature spa standout is the Hydrotherapy Scalp Renewal, a multi-sensory treatment giving the scalp the same level of attention typically reserved for a facial. Steam, chromotherapy, hydrotherapy, botanical products, gentle exfoliation, and soothing waterfall rinses work together to restore scalp health while calming the nervous system.
The spa menu also includes wellness without water, including Ayurvedic-inspired treatments and Cryo T-Shock facials.

Wellness at Sundara extends beyond the spa. The property's Meditation Trail winds through towering pines with stops corresponding to the body's seven chakras, encouraging mindful reflection amid the peaceful woodland setting. The Woodland Reflection Room continues that sense of serenity with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the forest, providing a quiet place to read or meditate. Guests can also participate in yoga classes, explore nearby hiking trails, or enjoy a private boat cruise on nearby Lake Delton.
Healthy meals are provided at Nava. Chef-crafted menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner showcase fresh seasonal ingredients with plenty of flavorful vegetarian options alongside hearty entrees.
One notable feature of Sundara is what guests won't find. The resort encourages guests to disconnect from electronic devices, allowing the peaceful sounds of flowing water and whispering pines to replace the constant buzz of notifications.
