Top Natural Deodorants

It is an evolution, and it’s been slow, but recently, the natural deodorant category has really exploded. Given studies that have linked ingredients found in traditional deodorants and antiperspirants with endocrine disruption and potentially even cancer, it is a category whose time has come! But it’s a tall order: we want products that keep us odor-free when we work out and live an active lifestyle.

Anyone with sensitive or allergic skin—especially young girls and teens—will find that natural deodorants are not only gentle on the skin, they keep you smelling sweet all day long! Here are some of our favorites.

Ambre Blends Natural Deodorant One of my absolute favorites, and who wouldn’t love the subtle amber-tinged scent! (An unscented version is also available.) A roll-on applicator dispenses 100 percent certified organic coconut oil, arrowroot, shea butter, and more.

Soapwalla Deodorant Cream Rachel Winard, creator of Soapwalla, was the first to take on a modern challenge: to get us used to dipping our fingers into a jar of deodorant and applying it that way. But she ended up creating one of the most effective and long-lasting products out there. Once you try it, you’ll be hooked!

Violets Are Blue Deodorant A lovely lavender roll-on from this boutique skincare brand, features aloe and extracts of yarrow, coriander seed, neem and lemongrass, to keep you fresh all day.

Blissoma Scentless Stick Natural Deodorant With a mix of clays and powders—in a mango butter base—to absorb and neutralize odor, this stick will give you the protection that you need.

Meow Meow Tweet Deodorant Cream Vegan and handmade in Brooklyn, this little jar is loaded with certified organic coconut oil, shea butter, arrowroot and more. Apply with fingers.
