It’s striking, and you can see it from the highway. A slim building, built like a vintage Cartier cigarette lighter, it towers gracefully above all others in the Austin skyline.
Walk through the light-filled lobby, and you can feel it. The new Fairmont Austin—a sleek, precise architecture of clean lines and modern design—is already creating excitement. From the statue of wild horses behind the concierge desk to the lively Fulton lobby bar, the Fairmont Austin is one of those places you just know is going to be fun. And from the moment you arrive, it is.
Before you do anything else, make a dinner reservation at Garrison, because you do not want to miss this. The culinary bar is high in Austin these days, and Garrison raises it even higher. With an open-concept kitchen, Texas Post Oak flame-grilled dishes and a whimsical decor, Garrison is the place to go with good friends or someone special. The menu changes, but the signature black truffle Tater Tots are an indulgence not to be missed. Wagyu rib eye, charred broccoli and scallops from the grill will also make you very happy.
This month, the Fairmont Spa Austin reopens, with nine treatment rooms, two luxury VIP couples suites and a spa menu featuring “elevated luxury, with a Texas touch,” according to Spa Director Benjamin Donat. The Spa features a solarium, steam and sauna and Vino Vinyasa—outdoor yoga on the gorgeous pool deck with a glass of rosé. A place, Donat says, “where you can take a break from your Zoom meetings, de-stress and enjoy time for yourself.” fairmont-austin.com
