Taking The Waters

by Organic Spa Magazine

Well off the beaten path, tucked into a canyon on the Clark Fork River in rural Paradise, Montana, Quinn’s is reminiscent of a traditional European “taking the waters” experience—except for the landscape, surrounded as it is by towering hills carpeted by pines, which is 100 percent American wilderness. Quinn’s takes you back to a simpler time, with friendly people, comfortable accommodations and a truly awe- inspiring nature-immersive experience. With five hot springs pools— the largest features waterfalls—plus two treated with salt, two casual restaurants (one tavern) and a variety of accommodations that include rustic riverview cabins, it is a unique wellness oasis and a happy throwback to a time when wellness wasn’t sought after, it just was.

With rock slabs integrated into the pools’ design—and on the hillsides—the pools seem to mesh organically with the mountains. A divine sense of peace descends on bathers in this magnificent setting and the health benefits of the mineral-rich pools are many. To enhance those benefits, and achieve a deep sense of relaxation, take a soak to warm your muscles, then follow it up with a massage. The mineral content of the hot spring water will help pull toxins out of your body. Be sure to drink plenty of water before and after your massage (and while you’re in the pools). Quinn’s use of geothermal technology harnesses heat from the mineral water to warm the pool decks, buildings and changing room showers.
