Fresh fruit and grilling are quintessential for summer, but have you ever tried combining the two? This year for your Fourth of July celebration you should try adding some fruit to your grill top. We promise your guests will be curious and eager to try it out. Here are some simple grilled fruit recipes to get you started:

Grilled Fruit Kabobs

If you need an appetizer to keep the guests occupied while the burgers are cooking, try this quick and easy grilled fruit kabob recipe from wholelifestylenutrition.com.

Fresh fruit of choice:

  • Peaches
  • Apples
  • Pears
  • Necterines
  • Plums
  • Bananas
  • Pineapples
  • Strawberries
  • 2 tablespoons of raw honey
  • 1 Tablespoon of grass fed butter

The directions for this appetizer could not be simpler.

1. Cut fruit into small equal chunks, around 1-inch.

2. Take your cut fruit and thread it onto a skewer. You can get creative and alternate your fruit or even keep it all the same per skewer.

3. Turn your grill on to about medium heat. In a small saucepan, melt your honey and butter on low heat.

4. Place the skewers onto the grill and top with the honey glaze.

5. Cook for 5 minutes then flip your skewer and cook for another 3-5 minutes.

6. Continue to add the honey glaze while you are cooking the skewers.

7. You can serve as kabobs, over some homemade ice cream, or with fruit dip.
