Patrick Huey, Vice President of Spa and Retail, Montage Intl.
With over 20 years of experience in the luxury hospitality and wellness industries, Patrick has built a dynamic career as an international leader within this elite field, running multimillion-dollar operations successfully by delivering the highest levels of performance and guest satisfaction. Patrick is the Vice President Spa and Retail for Montage International. With Montage International, Patrick is responsible for the spa, fitness and retail brand visions and operations for the six current and eight opening hotels for both Montage Hotels and Pendry Hotels. Prior to his current role, Patrick served as Group Director of Spas – Asia for MSpa at Minor Hotels International. Patrick was responsible for establishing and implementing the business strategy, product manufacturing and distribution, and third party management for the 40 spas in the Southeast Asian Spa Division in conjunction with the Chairman, CEO and SVP of Operations.
Patrick also served as the Corporate Director of Spa, Fitness and Tennis for Sandals Resorts International with 23 operational spas and fitness centers where he oversaw the Red Lane Spa and Fitness brands and launched the Red Lane Training Institute. During his time in the Caribbean, Patrick served on the Advisory Council for Jamaica’s Ministry of Tourism. Before that, Patrick was the Corporate Spa Director for Viceroy Hotel Group where he successfully launched the spa and fitness brand overseeing the US, Caribbean, Mexico and the Middle East.
Patrick serves as Chairman of the Board for the International Spa Association – the premier spa association with a presence in over 70 countries that fosters the development and professionalism of the global spa and wellness industries. In his role as Chairman, Patrick hosts ISPA’s virtual series: Heart of the Matter, ISPA Chats with Product Pros, ISPA’s Reopening Town Hall Series and Shine On. In addition to his Chairmanship, Patrick led the ISPA Covid-19 Collaboration Group that brought together spa leaders from around the world to create the template for the global spa industry to reopen their spas safely during Covid-19 known as the ISPA Reopening Toolkit. With more than 180,000 views and downloads, the ISPA Reopening Toolkit is regarded as the gold standard for reopening spas.
Patrick holds a Master of Fine Arts from Yale School of Drama in Acting and a Bachelor of Arts from Vanderbilt University in Creative/Nonfiction Writing, English Literature and Theatre. Patrick serves on the Advisory Council for Global Eye Entrepreneurs - a non-profit organization that serves to mentor and develop men of color who run their own companies.
