10 Self-Care Tips for Everyday

Sometimes the best gift you can give yourself is the gift of self-care.

Take a time out from caring for everyone around you and focus on taking good care of yourself. Here are our top 10 ideas for how to give yourself a little love this weekend.

1. Face Up Book the most relaxing facial available at your local spa, and make time to enjoy the steam or sauna, if it is available.

2. Om Therapy Book a series of yoga classes for the next month to help you stay focused, grounded and relaxed. Why not throw in those new recycled polyester leggings and bamboo cardigan while you’re at it?

3. Mala Meditation Pick up a pretty mala necklace, set an intention and use those 108 meditation beads to help you unwind.

4. Carve Out Some “Me” Time Reserve a chunk of time for yourself, and pick up a book or magazine—shameless self-promotion, how about Organic Spa Magazine?--lay on the couch and give yourself a few hours for a lazy relax and read.

5. Take a Hike Get out in the woods with family or friends and soak in some forest bathing. Nature has a way of restoring balance to our fast paced life. 

6. Go Dancing Crank up some music in the living room, grab your partner and shake the night away. 

7. Untangle the Knots Get yourself on the massage table and work out those kinks. 

8. Breathe Deep Pick up your favorite essential oils and practice aromatherapy—take a long, languorous bath; sprinkle some oils in a diffuser, or apply to pulse points and breathe!

9. Call It In or Go Out Take time off from cooking and call in your favorite dinner, or go out for brunch with the family. Make sure and enjoy some lovely organic or biodynamic wine or champagne, especially at brunch. It always feels so decadent to drink in the middle of the day, but you deserve to do something out of the box.

10. Gift yourself Splurge on something you’ve been eyeing for a while: a new pair of shoes, a box delivery subscription, a deluxe mani/pedi, a special hair cut. It will make you feel good, and you deserve it!
