How to Celebrate Movember

Beard-sporting guys (and the wonderful women that love them) are once again in the spotlight this month. Now on its 12th year, the Movember Foundation has continued its commitment to important men’s health issues. Since its inception, the global charity has raised $650 million to fund programs that focus on prostate- and testicular cancer, poor mental health and physical inactivity.

Here are three great ways to take part in this awesome cause and celebrate Movember:

Grow a Mustache for 30 Days

Perhaps the most well-known way to participate in Movember is to set up a fundraising page at its official site, movember.com. There, you can document the epic growth of your mustache while sharing your personal reasons for doing Movember. Spread the word, as friends, colleagues, and family can donate to your page. As an additional incentive, prizes will be given at the end of the campaign for organizations and individuals who reach certain monetary goals.

Take Part in the Move Challenge

Debuting this year, the Move Challenge is a 30-day commitment to do a physical activity—walking to work, playing sports, riding a bike—everyday. This is a great alternative for fellas who cannot have facial hair at their jobs, or cannot grow one even if they tried.

Restock your underwear drawer

Vancouver, Canada-based SAXX Underwear Co. has partnered with the Movember Foundation, donating $2 from each sale of their 'Stache Vibe Boxer ($32.95, saxxunderwear.com). The underwear brand is also telling the stories of three Mo Bros—cancer survivors Ron Telpher and Gianmarco Colannino, and mental health advocate Shea Emry of the Canadian football team the Saskatchewan Roughriders—to further encourage the public to fund programs aimed at men's health.
