Family Fun at Woodloch

I can now understand why Woodloch Pines, an all-inclusive Poconos Mountains’ resort nestled alongside a beautiful mountain lake, is so beloved by families with kids who return year after year. All-inclusive means exactly that: hearty meals and fun activities designed with special quality time in mind for families with kids from 2- to 92-years-old.

My grandkids, ages 6 and 10 (and their parents, too!) had a wonderful time. We tried to do everything, but could not succeed. At the lake there were sailboats, paddleboats, rowboats, canoes, paddleboards—with a small beach for digging happily in the sand, and a big water slide to plunge screamingly into the lake. The resort also featured large indoor and outdoor pools, too, with water games and water toys and so much more. There was also archery and miniature golf and a rock-climbing wall. And even more choices, like rock climbing walls, bingo, bumper cars, bumper boats, go carts, and arts and crafts all day long, capped off with family entertainment in the nightclub each evening.

We had fun from morning ’til night, and it felt really good to see so many other families having a wonderful time, too. It’s no surprise that during the past 50 years Woodloch Pines has one of the highest repeat guest ratios in the resort industry, proving that spending quality time with family never goes out of style. Moreover, as a member of the Green Hotel Association, the resort takes its responsibility to protect its natural environment seriously by preserving water, electricity and recycling whenever possible. The resort’s eco-friendliness was especially evident during our hikes along the nature trail where we felt immersed in old and young forest growth that lent an exciting and magical quality to the greenery.

Suffice to say, there’s rarely a dull moment at Woodloch Pines—so for a special, dull moment we left the kids with their dad to go scavenger hunting while their mom (my daughter) and I drove over to the fabulous Spa at the Lodge at Woodloch, a partner property, just a few minutes away where we enjoyed a great Swedish massage and a rejuvenating facial. Perfect!
