Ana Maria Varela, Director of Sales and Marketing, North America, Explora

Growing up in Chile, Ana Maria has envisioned herself working with Explora long before joining the company 12 years ago. Her career in the travel industry began with LATAM (formerly LAN airlines), where she developed alliances with strategic international partners.

Formerly Explora’s sales rep in North America, today Ana Maria oversees the continent. She is proud to be part of a team that saw Explora being named the world’s Leading Expedition Company by the World Travel Awards two years in a row.

Her definition of wellness integrates mental, spiritual, and physical health. Explora embodies a travel company that addresses all three elements to create an actual state of balance.

Ana Maria loves nature, art, music, and travel. She lives in Santiago, Chile.
