Solar Panels Shine Light On Importance of Renewable Energy

Some of the RRGH Solar Panels

As the Rocky River Green Home nears completion, finishing touches fall into place with the installation of the solar panels that will harvest energy from the sun and convert it into usable household energy. By using a combination of both solar and traditional energy, the Fischbacks will be able to significantly cut electric bill costs while also being mindful to the environment.

One of the most advantageous features of the solar panel system is the incredible amount in which it will reduce bills and ultimately pay for itself over time. The system chosen will lower monthly electricity bills by nearly 30 percent, a very substantial amount. Additionally, the initial installation and maintenance costs of the system will essentially pay for itself in the form of Federal Tax Credits intended to foster renewable energy systems. All together, the solar panels are a cost-efficient, conscientious choice for the RRGH.

The Fischbacks chose Mariner Energy Systems for the planning and implementation of the solar panel technology in the Rocky River Green Home. Mariner Energy Systems has been a reliable leading provider of renewable energy systems in the Cleveland area for the past six years.

The solar panel system featured in the RRGH has 10 Sharp 235-Watt residential solar modules. Sharp modules are sleek, black-framed modules that blend high performance with advanced aesthetics. Made in Memphis, Tennessee, Sharp modules have very high reliability ratings and low overall maintenance.

The inverters that will convert the direct current from the modules into the useful household energy are Enphase Microinverters. Enphase systems combine innovations in electronics, networking and web-based software to make solar systems smarter and ultimately more efficient for homeowners. All Enphase modules are controlled independently and are extremely resilient to environmental factors. This means that the solar modules can still produce power and harvest sunlight, even in partially shaded areas, making it the right choice for the RRGH- a home surrounded by a fair amount of trees.

The Sharp modules combined with the Enphase Microinverter system will deliver the most efficient solar panel technology to the Rocky River Green Home, serving as an unprecedented example to the surrounding neighborhood that solar energy is indeed an excellent energy saving option for all homes.
