Just in time for fall, The Ritz-Carlton, Denver debuts delicious pumpkin-inspired treatments.
Pumpkins aren't just for fairy tales, bread and jack-o'lanterns at Halloween. In fact, when it comes to skincare, pumpkin is loaded with fruit enzymes and alpha hydroxy acids that promote cell turnover and brighten and smooth lackluster skin. And, the zinc-rich seeds also help heal and control acne.
With the debut of the new Flavors of Fall treatment at The Spa at The Ritz-Carlton, Denver, guests can indulge in all things autumn with a three-part journey that begins with a drink of choice and a 50-minutes Aromatherapy massage with a vitamin-rich oil (think dreamy hints of nutmeg, clove and pumpkin pie) and warm towels to relax the neck, back and feet. Next, prepare for a 50-minute Pumpkin Enzyme Facial to slough away dead skin cells and combat dry skin.
For the grand finale, enjoy a Pumpkin Spice Pedicure that commences with a foot soak followed by a honey sugar scrub for shins and feet. Finally, a pumpkin spice mask is layered on feet (and carefully removed with warm towels) followed by a massage with lotion containing almond, sesame, flaxseed and jojoba, and an application of nail polish. DIY Pumpkin Honey Facial Mask
The Spa at The Ritz-Carlton, Denver, shared a recipe for a facial mask that is literally good enough to eat!
Recipe
Mix a few tablespoons of pureed pumpkin with 1 whipped egg white (helps tighten pores and reduces the appearance of fine lines), 1 tablespoon plain yogurt (helps exfoliate) and 1 tablespoon honey (great for clearing breakouts).
Apply to entire face, avoiding the eye area, and leave on for 10 minutes before rinsing. The yogurt and pumpkin will encourage cell turnover and exfoliate, while the honey has antibacterial properties to ensure a fresh face for fall.
