Daughter of Latvian immigrants and a first generation American, Laura grew up speaking both Latvian and English at home, but favored the latter as she made a career in the English language. A graduate of Ohio State University with a B.A. in Journalism, she worked at a national beauty magazine and restaurant publication prior to launching her own company. 

In 1991, along with American Salon Associate Editor Patricia Nugent, she founded a public relations firm—NuBried Communicators—focusing on the written word. Whether it’s a thought-provoking blog or in-depth feature article, she puts a spotlight on people and businesses by telling their stories with words that resonate.
