Just in time for Valentine's Day, we are launching a new DIY beauty and wellness column entitled Beauty Pantry—with self-care recipes that you can make at home using a few ingredients from your own pantry.

Take bathing to a whole new level with these fun, fizzy bath bombs, exploding with essential oils and strawberry petals. Bath bombs are always a blast to have around come bath time. Commercial brands, however, are often infused with neurotoxic ingredients, which may interfere with the liver’s ability to detoxify properly.

The good news is that they are actually quite easy to replicate at home, safely, using all natural ingredients. Follow along with the recipe below and have yourself a memorable soak.

Strawberry Love Bath Bombs

Makes 6 to 8 bombs

2 cups baking soda
1 cup citric acid
¼ cup chopped freeze-dried strawberries
10 drops rose essential oil (optional)
witch hazel

1. Choose a preferred mold. Silicone molds or tins with liners will allow for easy product removal.

2. In a large bowl, measure and add the baking soda and citric acid, and mix well. Add the strawberries and the essential oil if using, and mix with your hands.

3. Spray the mixture with 5 spritzes of witch hazel and mix by hand. Add several more spritzes over the entire surface of the mix, until you reach a damp sand-like consistency that holds together.

4. Working quickly, firmly press the mixture in your designated molds. Let sit in a cool spot for a few hours to dry, then remove from the mold.

5. To use, drop one bomb into a tub of warm water, hop in and get fizzy with it!

6. Store in a closed container in a cool, dry place. For maximum freshness, use within 6 months.
