3 Soothing Places to Meditate this Month

by Nicole Dorsey Straff

Sure, your seated meditation can occur anywhere but why not push through a personal boundary and challenge your chakras too. We are Downward Dogging at the most amazing places in June, and we hope you join us:

Coeur d’Alene, Idaho
Perfect your Warrior I pose while balancing on a paddleboard and surrounded by the  Bitterroot mountains as backdrop. Paddleboard Yoga is a great way to target your body’s core muscles (abs, hips, butt and back) because of the balance challenge on that board. A tour starts with a scenic paddleboard to Tubbs Hill Bay as a warm-up workout, then stretch and relax and meditate on your board. End with a paddle back to the full-service spa with 27 treatment rooms and indigenous ingredients such as mountain lavender and huckleberry.

Palmetto Bluff, South Carolina
In the famed Lowcountry between Charleston and Savannah, Palmetto Bluff is the largest remaining waterfront property on the East Coast. The Inn at Palmetto Bluff, an Auberge Resort, offers yoga on the Sandbar, a strip of sand in the middle of the water that shows itself for several hours daily meditation and yoga classes, clearing mind and spirit among the tides. It’s a unique semi-aquatic experience and the Sandbar is a nature-lover’s experience.

It’s easier to meditate in paradise.

Carmel Valley Ranch, California’s Central Coast
In 500 acres in the sunny foothills of the Santa Lucia Mountains, a newly refurbished Carmel Valley Ranch is a casual camp-inspired resort with outdoor adventures (biking and hiking for starters) with adventures that range from a daily hilltop meditation to the organic honey harvesting program. Guests may chant and meditate in sessions that take place on a wooden yoga platform  at the top of the Huff ‘n Puff hiking trail, shaded by an ancient oak and offers stunning, panoramic views of the mountains and valley below.

There’s no better place to get your Ohm on. Rates vary. Book a healthy stay today, or check out our other green getaways.
