Fall Beauty Treats

by Lily Nikolai

As the autumn foliage bursts into Technicolor around the country, our thoughts turn to apple cider, pumpkin, cinnamon and clove. The craving for fall flavors can be satisfied at the dinner table, or at spas that incorporate the taste of autumn into their treatment menus. Here are a few to enjoy.

Apple Cider

BEAUTY TIP:
Apples are packed with antioxidants and alpha-hydroxy acids to hydrate and exfoliate the skin.

Whiteface Lodge Apple Cider Deluxe Pedicure. Ancient sea mineral crystals and apple cider gently exfoliate, repair and tone legs and feet, while cuticles and nails are restored with a gentle file, cuticle treatment, and an application of soothing apple cream.

Clove

BEAUTY TIP:
Clove stimulates the circulation to help nourish the skin.

Sanctuary Spa at Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain, in AZ, features clove and black pepper to warm up the body and stimulate circulation in the invigorating Bodhi Body Contouring Treatment, with a gentle body polish, body mask, facial massage with warm herbal poultices and Swedish massage with a blend of black pepper, clove bud and kaffir lime essential oils.

Pumpkin

BEAUTY TIP:
Pumpkin is loaded with vitamin C, which protects the skin from sun damage and fine lines and wrinkles.

The Spa at Pelican Hill, in Newport Beach, CA features a Pumpkin Spice Facial, with a pumpkin apples spice exfoliation, to help reduce fine lines, acne and hyper-pigmentation, and stimulate skin cell turnover and renewal.
