Joy Bauer’s New Nourish Snacks

by Organic Spa Magazine

The Today Show’s Joy Bauer satisfies our craving for healthy snacks
“I’m a foodie and I love to cook,” says Joy Bauer, MS, RDN, which is no surprise to anyone who tunes in to the Today Show, where she has been the nutrition and health expert for over 10 years. When Bauer, a mother of two, decided to launch Nourish Snacks, she spent a year sourcing ingredients from around the globe, creating—and testing—recipes in her home kitchen.
“Everyone gets tripped up on snacks,” says Bauer. “People get confused and overwhelmed reading labels.” So she did all the work for us, creating delicious, healthy, satisfying vegetarian snacks made of real, whole foods like half-popped corn kernels (Mr. Popular), cocoa-dusted almonds and mocha granola (Mocha-mazing), citrus chili-roasted corn (Chili’n in the Corn’r) and more, all perfectly portioned in single-serve bags. “It was important to me that they’re under 200 calories, nutrient-dense, non-GMO, responsibly sourced, gluten- and dairy-free,” says Bauer.

If there ever was a real-world equivalent of something going viral, this is it. Nourish Snacks initially launched online and the brand exploded, selling over one million bags in a very short time. Now also at 3,400 Starbucks locations nationwide, Barnes & Noble College stores, college campuses and select Delta flights, this month, they are launching at Target’s test store in Minnesota.
“I feel like I am part of a movement,” says Bauer, who is active with the Clinton Foundation and Food Bank NY, where she recently donated 80,000 bags of Nourish Snacks. “There are so many brands I want to take with me. And the more successful this company becomes, the more philanthropic and charitable I can be.” nourishsnacks.com
