Arguably one of the Caribbean’s most sophisticated resorts with a down-to-earth vibe, Seafire feels surprisingly comfortable, like a home away from home.

From the moment you step into the Caribbean-themed lobby, greeted warmly by Seafire’s employees and a flute of sparkling rosé, you can feel yourself start to relax. Seafire, Kimpton’s first luxury property and Caribbean hotel is located directly on the white sands of Grand Cayman’s Seven Mile Beach—one of the Caribbean’s most beautiful beaches and one of the 12th best beaches in the world.

The 12-acre resort was voted one of the top hotels in the world in 2023. Seafire also received the prestigious Forbes Five-Star Award, as well as the AAA Five Diamond designation. And it has achieved LEED® Silver-Certification thanks to its sustainable and energy-efficient practices.

Most (240) of Seafire’s guestrooms and suites—all with oversized private balconies, floor-to-ceiling windows, and Frette linens—overlook the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. And many of these rooms, including the 10th floor 4,700 square foot presidential suite with wrap-around balcony, offer prime viewing for the orange-glow sunsets that sink into the water, inspiring Seafire’s name (“where fire meets the sea”). Three beachfront bungalows offer options for families and friends with separate bedrooms, kitchenettes, and living rooms. Two even have private plunge pools.

There’s plenty to do at Seafire. An $80 daily amenities fee gives you access to daily fitness classes including outdoor yoga and paddleboard yoga, as well as non-motorized sports like snorkeling, kitesurfing, paddle boarding, and kayaking. Outdoor bikes are also available. And the 1,770 square foot gym is filled with top-of-the line treadmills, Spin bikes, Cybex strength training equipment, and more. There’s also a kids-only splash park and daily camp.

And since the Cayman Islands is a world-class diving destination, divers flock to Seafire. Here, General Manager and diver Steven Andre escorts guests to the island’s renowned underwater coral reefs, as well as to lesser-known dive spots.

There’s also the 8,500 square foot spa where you can get Caribbean-inspired treatments incorporating tropical scents, organic and biodynamic extracts, and flower essences. High-tech facial treatments can also target problem areas using antioxidants, vitamin C, LED light, and more. A highlight: the light-filled indoor outdoor soaking tub, complete with waterfall. A full-service salon is also on site.

The dining options at Seafire offer something for everyone. Ave offers fresh local seafood and steaks in Mediterranean-inspired dishes often accompanied by live music. Nestled inside Ave is Avecita, a wood-fire restaurant that offers tapas-style dishes at the Chef’s counter or communal tables. At the open air, beachfront Coccoloba Bar & Grill, you can dine on fresh fish and locally inspired dishes and drinks. There’s also the Library by the Sea—a fresher take on the hotel library bar. Here you can order drinks inspired by works of literature, music, art, and film along with a lite bites menu.

Upcoming events: Seafire’s 4th Annual Wellness Festival, offered this year from October 31 – November 3, brings together top fitness, health, and mind-body experts for four days of classes (most of which are complimentary), health-promoting food including vegan dishes, and spirits (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic).
