The Moment’s Best Makeup

by Abbie Kozolchyk
As beauty trends make their way from the catwalk to the sidewalk, the transition isn’t always natural (see: faint pastel lashes). But this season, several fan favorites are as suited to daily life—or a celebratory night out—as they are to the runways that spawned them. Whether you’re inclined to embrace the seasonal chill with a cool, frosty esthetic or take a cozier approach with warm, spicy shades, read on. You’ll find at least one look you love, along with clean beauty options to help you pull it off.

Spice Girl

Autumn’s answer to summer’s latte-fueled TikTok trend, Pumpkin Spice Latte makeup keeps gaining steam. And no matter how you feel about the 20-year-old cultural touchstone that inspired the warm, rich, burnished look, you’ll likely be tempted by these nutmeggy, cinnamon-y shades.

Pretty in Pink

Balletcore is another TikTok trend that’s come back bolder than before—and really, when better to give it a whirl than Nutcracker season? Start with any shade you can picture on the Sugar Plum Fairy—shell pink, pale peach, winter white—then add a bit of gleam, et voila.

Frosted Finish

The season’s hottest metallics lean decidedly cool, ranging from pale silver to sparkling onyx and making for holiday party-perfect smoky eyes.

Blurred Line

You need not embrace goth or grunge—both of which have enjoyed a recent resurgence—to love the kind of liner that marks their confluence. Soft, smudgy and endlessly forgiving, these crayon and cake liners make a statement all their own, or pair perfectly with the metallic smoky looks above.

Berry Good

Without a stitch of makeup anywhere else on your face, you’d still make a dramatic statement with the season’s berries on your lips. The palette may seem intimidating, but it comes in formulations to suit every comfort zone, whether that’s gloss, tint or lipstick for you.
