Eco-Cheerleaders
The managers of Natural Body's 14 day spas are predominantly female, and according to founder Cici Coffee, that factors into the grass-roots causes they've adopted. Coffee encourages independence; philanthropic efforts are company-supported not company-directed. Besides being active participants in Earth Share, staffers choose initiatives that resonate with them and that are important to the communities where they do business. Neighborhood outposts have donated cosmetics to battered women's shelters, sponsored breast cancer walks, partnered with organic farmers, planted trees, and cleaned up rivers. "We are eco-cheerleaders," says Coffee. "Everybody gets involved and everybody has fun." For more on Coffee's green spa vision, turn to page 34.
