Paradise Found

by Organic Spa Magazine

Alexander Hamilton was born on Nevis, to a mother from neighboring St. Croix. The name Nevis comes from Christopher Columbus, who mistook the ethereal cloud-covering on Nevis Peak for “nieves,” or “snow” in Spanish.

This beautiful island is one of the most pristine in the Caribbean. It not only features a rich history and an unspoiled natural beauty, it boasts a natural eco-spa pedigree, with healing mineral hot springs that can be found—and enjoyed—all over the island. Many were formerly housed in bath houses that date back to the 18th century, when the island was dotted with sugar plantations.

The Four Seasons Nevis is the only large resort on the island, offering luxury accommodations, impeccable service and easy access to the incredible biodiversity here. Enjoy guided hikes to nearby peaks; take a dip in an island waterfall; bike through a mountain rainforest with monkey habitats; snorkel and dive the natural reefs; visit a nearby organic farm; play Eco-Bio golf; or join a nighttime sea turtle conservation mission, through a partnership with the Nevis Ministry of Tourism and the Four Seasons, to expand sustainability initiatives on the island.

And leave plenty of time to kick back in a Luxury Beach House, pictured, or the Spa, where you can enjoy relaxing treatments in private outdoor cottages or indoor treatment rooms.
