One might not usually associate Italians with “green” design but Regenesi, a company launched last year with offices in Bologna and Milan, is out to prove otherwise. “We founded Regenesi because we firmly believe that with great design we can give beautiful new life to materials that would otherwise end up in landfills,” explained Maria Silvia Pazzi, founder and CEO of the company. The products are just now available in the United States via the company’s website, and include this “O-Re-Gami” lampshade by Matali Crasset made from sheets of 100 percent recycled and recyclable leather.
